I like to take my time, allowing my subjects to be relaxed and comfortable during the session, and not feel too posed or stuffy.
This translates into portraits that capture not just a pretty smile, but an essence of true individuality.
If you sit a child down (or even an adult for that matter!) and "say cheese", the end result will be a cheesy smile! I take the time to allow my subjects to just be themselves, and as a result I capture those natural expressions you know and love.
In the Studio or On Location
Portraits can be taken in my studio which is set up with basic backdrops and props to make your portrait as casual, relaxed and comfortable as possible.
Or alternatively I could come to you on-location. I can bring a studio setup with basic backdrops and props to your home, or we can just allow your home to be a natural backdrop for your portraits.
It is often difficult to make your children feel comfortable or smile during a typical photo shoot, being in their own environment might just do the trick! Very often the best images of children are not the ones where every detail is perfect, but rather the relaxed and playful images that truly portray the child's personality.
Yet another option is to have your portrait session at an outdoor location of your choice - maybe a local park, garden or even the beach. The great outdoors is a naturally beautiful and scenic backing for any portrait. Please ask for full pricing details.
